the poetry of the in-between
Liminal Spaces is a photographic exploration of contemporary American anxiety, memory, and cultural dislocation. Through cinematic imagery of the American Southwest, Juan Correa examines the emotional terrain between disappearing myths and unresolved futures. The work functions as both document and confession—an archive of the in-between.

Juan Correa is a contemporary fine art photographer based in New Mexico whose work investigates liminality, modern anxiety, and the evolving psychological landscape of the American Southwest. Through cinematic imagery influenced by film noir and literary realism, Correa examines spaces suspended between belief and disillusionment.
His ongoing series, Liminal Spaces, functions as both cultural document and poetic archive, capturing environments where the mythology of twentieth-century America quietly erodes. Correa holds degrees in Film Studies, Fine Art Photography, and Arts Management, and his work has been featured in juried exhibitions and portfolio reviews, including CENTER Santa Fe.
